Our Cancellation Policy.

Cancelling an order with motorlet. 

This page will inform you on the details of our cancellation policy for lease orders. These terms apply to lease contracts and orders taken out with Motorlet, and it is required that all customers and potential customers acknowledge and understand how these conditions apply to their circumstances. By placing an order with us, you have automatically offered your agreement to these terms and your order will operate with these applied. This policy relates to your agreement with motorlet, and not with your finance provider or vehicle supplier.

1. CANCELLATION RIGHT - CONSUMER

The Consumer Contracts Regulations apply specifically to contracts entered into by individuals who fall within the definition of a "consumer" as outlined in the Regulations. According to the Regulations, a consumer is an individual who is acting for purposes that are entirely or primarily outside their trade, business, craft, or profession. It's important to note that sole traders or partnerships are not afforded the same level of protection under these Regulations.

1.1) Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Information, Cancellation, and Additional Charges), you are entitled to a cooling-off period of 14 days. This cooling-off period applies specifically to contracts for goods or services that are concluded at a distance (such as online or over the phone) or off premises (such as in-person contracts outside of business premises). During this 14-day period, you have the right to cancel the contract without providing any reason.

1.2) The 14-day cancellation period will commence from the date you sign your order form or complete your order online. This signifies your acceptance of the quotation, our IDD document, and the terms and conditions, thereby instructing us to proceed with ordering a vehicle on your behalf.

1.3) In the event that you choose to cancel your order your processing fee will not be refunded. It is important to understand that, according to legal provisions, we are entitled to retain a reasonable fee when services requested by a consumer have been performed. The specific amount of this fee will be determined based on the services provided to you prior to and during the cancellation process.

1.4) In the event that you have specifically requested that we commence the provision of services immediately and this occurs during the Cancellation Period, we reserve the right to impose a cancellation fee in addition to our processing fee. This additional fee covers any costs or expenses incurred as a result of initiating the services and will be communicated to you in a transparent manner.

1.5) Iif you decide to cancel your order outside of the 14-day cooling-off period, a cancellation fee will be applicable. The cancellation fee will be equivalent to three times the monthly rental amount agreed upon in your lease order. This fee is imposed to cover the costs and commitments associated with our services provided. 

1.6) Subject to the status of your order at the time of cancellation, please note that the Vehicle Supplier may impose additional fees for the cancellation. These fees are separate from Motorlet's cancellation fee mentioned earlier, and the exact amount will be determined by the Vehicle Supplier. We will promptly inform you of the specific fees charged by the Vehicle Supplier once we receive your cancellation request.

1.7) In the event that you have already taken delivery of the vehicle and your contract is live, please note that the cancellation process must be conducted directly with the finance provider. As Motorlet acts as an intermediary in arranging the lease, it is necessary for you to communicate directly with the finance provider to initiate the cancellation process. They will provide you with the specific instructions and procedures to follow in order to cancel the contract. We recommend contacting the finance provider at the earliest convenience to discuss your cancellation request and seek their guidance regarding any associated terms and fees.

1.8) In the event that there is an unforeseen increase in funding charges or a change to the vehicle specification that is beyond the control of Motorlet, you have the right to cancel your order without incurring any penalties. Please note that our processing fee will still be retained, as our services have already been rendered in facilitating the leasing process up until that point. We strive to provide transparent and fair terms, and we appreciate your understanding of this policy. 1.9) If you do decide to cancel your lease car order with Motorlet, in accordance to our cancellation policy, you will need to notify us either by post or email. Please find our contact details on the bottom of this page. 

2. CANCELLATION RIGHT - BUSINESS

The following terms apply to terms apply to a sole trader, small partnership, large partnership, limited company or a limited liability partnership.

2) The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to transactions conducted by businesses.

2.1) As a business customer, by signing the Order Form or completing an online order, you are requesting Motorlet to commence providing the Services. As a business customer, you acknowledge that the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to you, and you are bound by our Cancellation Policy and Terms and Conditions, which supersede provisions applicable to consumers.

2.2) In the event of cancellation by you, the processing fee paid will be forfeited, and we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee equivalent to three monthly rentals, as well as any deposits and/or Initial Payments (as applicable), as fees for our services.

2.3) Additionally, depending on the status of the order at the time of cancellation, the Vehicle Supplier may also levy cancellation fees. These fees are separate from Motorlet's aforementioned cancellation fees, and we will notify you of the amount charged by the Vehicle Supplier upon receiving your cancellation request.

When writing to us, please be sure to include your full name, address, and order number. 

On receipt of your cancellation, we will terminate your contract and confirm to you in writing once done so.
