OZEV Grant to end in March 2022

By the end of March 2022, the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme will finish and the 75% discount will no longer be available.
OZEV electric charging grant to end March 2022

OZEV grant for at-home car charging point to finish by the end of March 2022.

The Office for Zero Emissions Vehicle (OZEV) has announced that their Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme will come to an end on March 31, 2022. This grant has allowed for a 75% contribution towards an electric vehicle charge point and the installation at the vehicle owner’s home.

Previously, homeowners who lived in single-unit properties, such as bungalows, detached, semi-detached or terraced homes, could claim for the 75% off grant up to a cap of £350 per installation, to go towards the cost of an at-home electric car charging point. This was available to any homeowner who owned, leased, or had ordered a vehicle that fits the qualifications for the scheme, and has off-street parking at their address.

There’s still a chance to take advantage of the OZEV grant if you get your lease vehicle order in before February 2, 2022, so you have time to book in the installation before the grant ends. Any orders placed after this date will not be eligible for the grant, so it’s important to move quick if you were planning on utilising those discounts.

For future electric car lease orders that require an at home charging point, we will be offering you the option to add a charging unit to your lease deal. This means you can spread the costs of a charging unit across your monthly lease payments, so it’s payable in manageable chunks. We’re unable to offer this service for Scottish customers who are still eligible for the Energy Saving Trust grant.
