The brand-new Land Rover Range Rover - the Queen Bee of SUVs

Find out why we've fallen in love with the newest Range Rover lease car.
Review of the brand-new Land Rover Range Rover

Is the latest Land Rover Range Rover the most luxurious SUV on the market? We vote yes.

I’ve begun writing this review a few times now and each time it’s started to sound like an advertisement for a posh supermarket – there aren’t many ways to say, ‘this isn’t just an SUV,’ that don’t sound horrifying cringey. So, we’re going to commit to it and embrace the levels of cringe that the brand-new Land Rover Range Rover has pushed us to. *Deep breath* - this isn’t just an SUV; this is an SUV that redefines what it means to be a luxury vehicle. That wasn’t so bad, actually.

The reason why the latest Range Rover model has us reaching such pinnacle levels of praise has something to do with the sheer amount of everything it has crammed into all orifices. Okay, we say crammed but we probably mean ‘expertly engineered’. The latest generation of Land Rover Range Rover is larger but lighter, efficient but faster, and absolutely glorious in appearance. You wouldn’t mind being stuck behind one of these in traffic – at least you’ll have something to look at.

What's it like to drive a Range Rover lease car?

The more we gush about the glories of the latest Range Rover, the more incoherent we become. It starts when you take a peek at the engine, and it really does have to be a peek as you’d be there for hours if you plan on taking in every inch of this incredible machine. We can break it down for you and tell you straight up, under the bonnet of our top-range model is a 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine. Pretty big, and perfectly done. Sure, Land Rover have had a fair few years to really nail the engineering on the Range Rover, but we’ll still give them the service of being shocked at just how incredible this machine has become. You can even opt for a petrol/plug-in electric hybrid model, so you’ll have a nice high horse to ride around on if anyone wants to question how your massive vehicle is impacting the environment. Practise with us – “It’s actually an electric hybrid, thank you” *tips hat*.

So, the engine is big - but what can it do? Well, it depends on what kind of mood you’re in. Our top-range Range Rover lease car offers a 6.3 second answer to the 0-62mph question, so it can really leap off the line. That doesn’t for a second mean that it’s jumpy to drive, oh no, this Range Rover glides in all that it does and will always feel elegant despite its size and speed capabilities. If you do want to test its limits, this model is capable of 145mph top speeds, not at all bad for a large SUV with over 800 litres of boot space. That boot space is important too, for anyone wanting to use the Range Rover as what we suppose it’s intended for – a functional, spacious vehicle that would be perfect for the style conscious family. Whatever your intended use for this stunning machine, we’re sure they’ll be a couple occasions where you’ll be thankful for the sheer amount of space available, especially with a pop of speed at your fingertips.

If you’re not wanting to push your Range Rover lease car to the limit when it comes to speed, the off-road capabilities might be more up your street. There’s software built in that makes off-roading a breeze, so you can take on rivers up to 900mm and cross them with ease, and take on treacherous inclines from the comfort of your very upmarket lease car. There’s a whole lot of extra tech and driver aids built in too, so you won’t struggle solo on any journey as the Range Rover will just step in and give you a hand. There’s a 3D surround camera built in that will assist with forward traffic detection, 360-degree parking, and wade sensing (to name a few of its extensive list of functions), as well as other helpful features like lane keep assist, rear traffic monitor, and traffic sign recognition.

Incredible interiors from the Range Rover lease car.

It helps as well, that all of these functions can take place whilst you’re nestled in the plush cabin of a prestigious SUV. The Range Rover lease car is incredible all round, but it has a particular penchant for a world class interior. It starts off with a healthy chunk of legroom and carries on up to some unbelievable comfortable seating. You can actually add on options for Executive Class Seating in the rear and a full entertainment system, should you want individual seating with options to recline and something to keep those rear passengers busy. It’s also worth noting that all of this equipment and flashy embellishments are actually really well made, so there are none of those scratchy plastics to contend with.

The set-up inside the Range Rover lease car really peaks in the front seats. Obviously, if your sat in the front there’s a 50% chance you’re driving the car, so you’re going to be having a good time anyway. Even so, the set-up of tech really adds to the experience. There’s a massive touchscreen unit that will take care of most functions, plus a heads-up display for keeping your eyes on the road. There’re also some handy buttons on the steering wheel, so you can navigate the car’s functions without having to move an inch.

The Range Rover has sat among other SUVs in the market for some time now, offering itself as the major luxury offering that has never been beat. This latest model, with all its bells and whistles, gorgeous stylings, and driving finesse, has really set the bar at unreachable heights.  It’s a car that’s seen many attempts at replication, but only the Range Rover can actually pull of the ideal result. Overall, and if we haven’t made it clear so far, we are a huge fan.
